Blue Christmas

The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center this year is blue.  Very, very blue.  It doesn't show that well in this photo, but there seems to be more blue lights on the tree than any other color.  Not only are they blue, they are an intense electric blue.  The tree supposedly went "green" this year with energy efficient bulbs powered by solar panels or something.  That's all well and good--but why is it so blue?

Blue was the decorator's favorite color. Or maybe some of the red and green ones went out, and all they could find were blues.

It's nice, though. Just doesn't have as many lights as Bobby puts on his trees.

You're looking good. I swear you've done porn.

And is that my friend Jack behind you slightly to your right? What's he doing there?

Looking good...and the trees handsome too! rimshot.

I noticed that it was really blue this year. Made me think of Hanukkah. I really like that the bulbs are low power consumption LEDs. I didn't know they were solar powered, too.

I still don't understand why every rooftop in the southern U.S. doesn't have their roofs covered with solar panels. (To his credit, the Governator is trying hard in CA.)

When I was growing up and we'd go on a car tour to see the Christmas lights, my mother would always say "Oh look at the blue lights those people have. They must be poor." Now, anytime I see blue lights I think that. I like the look of the tree though.

Blue lights? Sorry, I didn't notice them at first ... there was something that caught my eye in the forefront ...

Funny. We went to see the tree yesterday with friends, and we kept saying, "I don't know about those lights...they're very blue." I noticed when I looked at the LED lights in the store that they looked like the white lights had a bluish caste, and the colored lights were very intense. Did you like the flashing white lights that go off periodically? It's a little garish this year, but hey, if we're saving the environment....I guess we have to make up for those people who buy artificial "Made in China" Christmas trees that are destroying the earth. Just kiddin' ya. You look great, and the tree I'm not so sure.

I really like the photo...handsome tree model as well as tree.

The new LED bulbs just don't have the warm glow like the old, fat C4 bulbs of my youth.

as a child, i was enchanted by houses lit with blue lights. then i came to find them depressing. then i loved them again. now they make me a little . . . um, er . . . well, blue.

the mood-lowering effect of the blue lights on that tree are counteracted by the handsome boy standing before it. merry christmas, cupcake.
