Dubrovnik, Croatia
Here is the travelogue email I sent home from the Seven Seas Voyager on Dubrovnik, Croatia. This city was particularly special to me because it was the first opportunity I had to set foot on dry land after 8 long days of rehearsal on the ship. What a treat it was!Well, after seeing Dubrovnik, Croatia, I understand why someone in the song "Ring Them Bells" suggest to Shirley Devore to "Try Dubrovnik, dear, before you go home". It's gorgeous--a medieval walled city practically intact with beautiful beaches nestled on the sea beneath a great protective mountain. Although there was some damage sustained during the military conflict of the mid-1990s the people of Dubrovnik are fiercely proud of their city and have taken great pains to lovingly restore it.
