You Know Things Are Bad When...

Even former President Jimmy Carter, humanitarian, Nobel Peace Prize winner and diplomat extraordinaire, can't find anything nice to say. Here are some of his remarks on the current Bush Administration:
“I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history. The overt reversal of America’s basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me.”
Carter gave an interview to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in which he expounds on George W. Bush's war, foreign policy and the separation of church and state. Read more here.

Y'know, it's true ... one of the biggest lies this administration ever told (and there have been many) is this notion that the modern GOP is the country's conservative party.

Carter doesn't have to even bring himself or Clinton into the conversation. It's not even a question of ideology; it's a question of incompetence and arrogance.

you know, he had guts to tell us how the cow ate the cabbage back when he was president. he was honest and told the truth. he's telling the truth now, that the emperor has no clothes. would that there were more out there willing to speak up. and i am sorry that he backpedaled a little, but can understand why he might have done so. hopeless, hopeless.
